maia and wellnessland reunite

A brief history. In the earliest days of TM, Maia Earth Village and Wellnessland Health Institute had partnered to work with patients, clients, curious seekers, and a dedicated group of souls who were eager to explore together the various dimensions of wholeness through a mandalic approach to healing. Starting this May 2019, Maia and Wellnessland again team up to offer unique, collaborative, affordable retreats, designed especially for the Cebuano community.

Fundamentals of Wholeness Systems Healing - the program. This 4-day nature immersion process invites participants to dive deep, let go, trust, and unfold. The comprehensively designed intuitive program focuses on integrating the Key of 7 in direct correlation with Wholeness Systems Healing through supportive platforms for grounding, creating, empowering, experiencing, dialoguing, learning, and being.

Fundamental components of TM will be discussed, demonstrated, and practiced in a variety of hands-on and experiential learning approaches that provide participants space to grow and transform through teachable moments and applicable methods that can be transferred from Maia to the home. Ample space will also be dedicated to resting, walking to the beach, quietly reflecting, making Ecobricks or tending to the gardens, relaxing around a fire while stargazing, or having heart to heart conversations as connections grow and bonds deepen.

There are no specific goals or outcomes for this program. Each participant will experience it differently as transformation is a medicine uniquely each our own. What returns home with participants after they leave Maia is an embodiment of perspective shifts that continue to live on long after departures turn into memories.

This retreat is also a process - it first begins in Cebu. Starting with a one-on-one pre-departure consultation and assessment at Wellnessland, participants will be given a journaling workbook and brief overview of Wholeness Systems Healing so they become familiar with the methods and protocol of this journey into nature. There will also be time for answering questions and providing a final overview of “what to expect” in the simplicity of this ecovillage community. Lastly, any final concerns regarding health, fitness, mobility, personal or emotional needs, and/or fears that might still be harboring somewhere within will be addressed in this pre-departure consultation.

Next steps - a little island hopping and getting to Palawan. This part of the journey is the full responsibility of each participant. Participants must purchase, book and confirm their own flights including departure and arrival times. Flight costs are NOT included with this retreat. For any flight-based inquiries, requests for more information, or assistance with departure/arrival times, airline recommendations etc., participants are welcome to fill up the Contact Form below.

The onward journey - transportation to Maia. Based on actual arrival times (recommendation is to land in Palawan on a morning or afternoon flight) individuals or small groups of participants will be asked to meet at a designated pick-up location for their onwards travel to the Maia Earth Village. Transportation costs from pick-up location to Maia and return fees from Maia to the airport are included in this retreat package.

A 4day/5night immersion starts - what to expect. Upon landing in Maia, participants will be welcomed by the fresh air and lush greenery of this 7 hectares property and tropical landscape. Maia is a world all its own. Its residents and community practice Sacred Simplicity through the Key of 7 and are sustained by ecologically conscious ways of living. Basic daily needs and functions are met by solar powered structures, compost toilets, water catchment systems, bucket and tabo showers, a pump well, spring water, and open air accommodations. This is truly a space that practices, lives and breathes what it means to go “back to basics”.

Food and Accommodations - entering Sacred Simplicity. The Philippines are blessed with an abundance of locally grown, fresh produce including a large variety of medicinal fruits and vegetables. In Palawan, many farmers do not use chemicals. Thus, much of what is available is also organic. The lands in and around Maia produce enough coconuts to keep groups of 50 or more in contented states of quenched thirst while sipping on buko water after cutting open a coconut. Meals in Maia will be simple and wholesome, incorporating the basic foundations of Lifestyle Medicine into what is daily offered. Participants can anticipate lots of raw fruits and coconuts to be readily available, nutritious salads and some wholesome cooked foods prepared at lunch time and hot water for herbal teas or fresh calamansi available at most any time of the day. Dinners will be modest as lunch will likely be the largest meal of the day. Participants who would like to experience coconut or fruit fasting, a 100% raw food diet, or any practice leading towards breatharianism are encouraged to take advantage of Maia’s high vibrations and supportive community as an optimal space for authentically deepening relationships with food and the many changes that might occur when old patterns are shifted - even if just for one day.

Accommodations will mostly be dorm-style, tropical glamping and camping options with a few spaces available for couples or those who need additional support. Tents and hammocks are also available for the most adventurous participants. Mosquito nets, mats, pillows, blankets and sheets will all be provided. Participants are encouraged to find a space that resonates and make it feel like home for the duration of the retreat.

Returning home - post retreat integrations. On the last day, participants will be transported back to the airport for their flight departures. In days following their returns home, participants are encouraged to continue using their journal workbook to reflect, and write about the changes they notice and experience on various physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual levels of integration. A post-retreat assessment will also be held by appointment at Wellnessland within the first week or two after landing. During these early weeks of transition into daily life, its important to know that changes in the form of purgation, detox, emotional release, or shifts in usual states of consciousness can all be part of the re-integration process.
